Clippers fans got some surprising news Wednesday when it was revealed Kawhi Leonard would be out indefinitely with a knee injury.
Leonard, who had played 34 minutes in Game 4 for the Clippers against the Jazz, came up lame after driving to the hoop late in Los Angeles’ win, but not much was made of the injury. It was just assumed that the Clippers were playing it safe with their star.
Instead, it appears that Leonard’s injury is more serious. He missed Games 5 and 6 vs. the Jazz and could be out even longer term.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Leonard is out indefinitely. The Clippers fear that he may have suffered an ACL injury during Game 4 against the Jazz.

Previously, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that Leonard told his teammates to “prepare for him to be out” and that he might not return during the Clippers-Jazz series.

That warning came to fruition, but the Clippers still managed to advance. Now, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports is reporting that Leonard won’t be with the team for the first two games of Los Angeles’ Western Conference finals series vs. Phoenix.

Clippers fans have to hope that Leonard can return for Game 3, but , his outlook is uncertain at best, with no timetable for his return.

Shortly after that, Charania reported that the Clippers feared Leonard had suffered an ACL injury.
Leonard missed Los Angeles’ series-clinching Game 6 win over Utah on June 18. The next day, Haynes reported that Leonard would be out for the first two games of the Suns-Clippers series.
